Clinical Competence Solutions (CCS) programs answer the healthcare community’s need for educational tools that directly enhance a healthcare practitioner’s patient care management. CCS products are designed to support a team approach to rectifying identified educational gaps.
Applied Education Program. The AEP is the premier resource teaching the healthcare practitioner within a peer-to-peer learning venue resulting in improved patient care.
Clinical Competence Solutions’ AEP:
- Guides toward the most effective educational tools,
- Uses a step-by-step process identifying competency concerns,
- Provides an in-depth evaluation process that is essential in understanding how to prioritize and dissect the educational issues,
- Contains effective coaching tools to guide the healthcare practitioner mentor,
- Allows tracking of progress being made and celebrate success.
Using internal resources means that extraneous costs are reduced. A trusted staff member or community-based mentor guides the learning process. For healthcare organizations, use of an internal mentor supports a positive resolution to any staff situation. The organization can control and direct the educational process.
By removing the costs and time associated with seeking the assistance of external education programs, AEP provides its services in a timely, cost-effective manner. (Brochure)
Return to Practice Program. Practitioners who seek a return to clinical practice following an extended absence are often faced with unexpected knowledge gaps and a general lack of familiarity with routine patient care. The Return to Practice Program uses a structured process to help practitioners address these issues and ensure a safe resumption of practice.
Use of the Return to Practice program allows the practitioner and monitor to focus on the actual learning activities. There are no unnecessary and costly assessments or evaluations. The Return to Practice program’s structure guides the pair through the acquisition, integration, and mastery of knowledge that will assure reentry success. Inherent to this process is an objective foundation in which educational needs and new learning are continuously addressed; improvement is measured through application to hypothetical and actual cases. Surgical Skills Education. Clinical Competence Solutions helps secure training venues that allow a physician to address concerns about technical skill competence. Use of surgical simulators gives physicians an opportunity to demonstrate technical proficiency; in some cases, the surgeon can obtain certification verifying improved technical skills. Surgeons complete the simulation experience in the presence of trained educators.
Resource and Referral. Healthcare practitioner's and their referring organizations no longer have to spend precious time looking for educational resources. CCS staff will work with you to clarify goals and identify the organization or product that best meets your needs.
Consultation. CCS staff can work with boards and healthcare organizations to create and structure the best tool for the situation.
